Somehow I thought this week was week 5, and work got stressed, I did some Craigslist shenanigans and sold my G4 tower and then bought a G3 Wallstreet, Teflon's birthday, etc. So here I am making something from nothing and having a good time. Yay me! no 6:38 Week 3 was weird for me. I wanted to do an ambient evolving noise thing. Instead we have this.
I was trolling a Future Music disc for a sample to feed into a Reaktor patch and saw a drum kit from a Casio SK-1 sampler. I had this keyboard and eventually sold it, a hard part was that I loved the drumsounds, but they weren't programmable. So I started playing with the drumkit in Live and then made a little synthline to go with it. This track has no audio loops in it, I programmed all the MIDI myself, something haven't done in @ 8 years now. So that was cool. The sound feel remeinds me of both Patric Catani's Nyquil Drive track and Aphex Twin's Ventolin, so the name is a nod to those tracks and the painkiller I get to have during a gout attack.
Then last night (03-14-2008) as I was about to render this out and podcast it, my Macbook crashed hard. As you can tell, I've fixed it, but it did up the weekly stress a bit.
